Tobinco group supports flood/fire victims with GH¢150,000
The Tobinco Group of Companies has given out an amount of GH¢150,000 to assist in the treatment of victims of the twin disaster and help them build back their lives.
The company’s move follows calls for support to assist victims who had lost all their belongings due to the disaster.
Management of Atinka 104.7 FM, a subsidiary of Tobinco Group of Companies on Wednesday, June 10, presented a cheque for GH¢10,000 to the National Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital to defray the cost of surgery for six victims of the flood and fire disaster.
The cheque was presented by the General Manager of Atinka FM, Emmanuel Kyei Boate in the company of some staff of Atinka FM at the Burns Unit.
Receiving the cheque, the Acting Head of the Unit Dr. Albert Painstil expressed gratitude to Atinka FM and the Tobinco Group for the kind gesture and appealed to other corporate organisations and individuals to do same.
The Tobinco Foundation had on Wednesday morning donated GH¢5,000 to the TV3 June 3 Disaster Fund, and presented medical supplies worth GH¢20,000.
Several health screening activities have also been scheduled to take place in the country’s capital.
