Tigo supports Anglican Women’s Vocational Training Centre
With support from Tigo, the Anglican Women’s Vocational Training Centre at Afari, near Nkawie in the Ashanti Region, has inaugurated a kitchen complex for students.
The building has a residential facility for the head teacher, a classroom block, a dining hall for students, a large kitchen area, and washrooms.
Prior to the construction of the new complex, catering students were undertaking their practical work in the open.
The training centre established in 2010 by the Kumasi Diocesan Anglican Women’s Ministry, offers courses in catering, dressmaking, hairdressing, entrepreneurship, business management and accounting for young women in the Ashanti Region.
The project was inaugurated by the wife of the Asantehene, Lady Julia Osei-Tutu; with support from the Bishop of the Kumasi Diocese and Presiding Bishop, Joint Anglican Diocesan Council, Rt Rev. Daniel Yinka Sarfo.
