T.I. AMASS 79-year group donates lighting system to school
The 1979-year group of T. I. Ahmadiyya Senior Senior High School (AMASS) in Kumasi has helped to illuminate the campus with the donation of an LED street lighting system worth GH¢15,000.
The lighting system, which has already been installed has helped to enhanced security and the aesthetics of the school.
The headmaster of the school, Alhaji Yakub A. B Abubakar, during a short handover ceremony said the street lights have contributed greatly in the supervision of night studies (prep).
He commended the 1979 year group for giving back to their alma matar and called on other year groups to emulate the gesture.

A group of 30 from the year group, together with some leadership of the old students association converged on the campus for the handing over ceremony.
The donation of the lighting system formed part of activities marking the group's 40th anniversary celebration.
Led by the secretary of the year group, Mr George Owusu-Ansah, a.k.a. Bof, some of the members included, ACP Akwasi Musa (Retired), president; Mr Akwasi Ampratwum Mensah, formerly with the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), I. K Gyasi, a former headmaster; and Mr Daniel Aggrey, a businessman.
The rest included Mr Amponsah Tawiah (5000 and 1500 meter race national championship); Mr Ahmed Nsiah Bempah, the Central Regional Director of the Forestry Commission and Dr James Yaw Ababio, a Principal Research Scientist at the Crop Research Institute, Fumesua.
