Swiss Ambassador visits Jospong Group of Companies
The Swiss Ambassador in Ghana, Mr Gerhard Brugger, has visited the various subsidiaries of the Jospong Group of Companies in Accra to familiarise himself with their activities.
The subsidiaries he visited included Zoomlion Ghana, Universal Plastic Products and Recycling Limited, the group’s motorbike and tricycle assembly plant, the vehicle assembly plant, as well as the KNUST-Africa Institute of Sanitation and Waste Management.
Others were the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant, and the Jute Mills Ghana Limited, where cocoa sacks are produced for COCOBOD.
Good relations
Mr Brugger said Ghana was one of the leading exporters of cocoa to Switzerland’s famous cocoa industries and as such, he was impressed, particularly with the activities of the jute factory.

He also said the two countries had maintained good and fruitful relations in the past decades, adding that the focal points of the relations had been a flourishing trade, particularly in cocoa and the Swiss government's support programme for Ghana.
According to him, Swiss exports to Ghana consisted largely of machinery, especially equipment for processing grain, making chocolate, and pharmaceutical products.
Swiss-Ghanaian Chamber
Mr Brugger said with the establishment of the Swiss-Ghanaian Chamber of Commerce in August this year, business opportunities between the two countries were expected to increase, especially, among small and medium-scale industries.
“Bilateral relations between Ghana and Switzerland continue to grow with increased public, as well as private partnerships between the two countries”, he stated.
For his part, the Chief Operating Officer of Zoomlion Group, Mr Mokhles Bustami, who accompanied Mr Gerhard Brugger on the tour, lauded the Swiss Government for showing interest in the group’s activities.
