Police investigating death of four in septic tank
The Police have begun investigations to unravel the circumstances that led to the death of four people who drowned in a septic tank at North Kaneshie in Accra on Thursday.
The Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, ASP Afua Tenge, told Accra-based Citi FM that the matter was being investigated and that the public should patiently wait for the outcome.
Three of them victims are of the same family and have been identified as a 41-year-old sewage truck driver, Abraham Armah Atto, and his two conductors; Nyarko Atto, 52, who is also an elder brother of the driver, and Nii Boye, 22, a nephew.
The fourth person has been identified as Martey Amarkwei, 25.
The three family members were dislodging material from the septic tank, which belonged to Blanco Met Recycling Company located near Kasajan Limited, when the accident occurred.
It’s not clear how the fourth person drowned.
