Man gets 10 years for defiling girl, 12
For defiling a 12-year-old female child at Adenta Commandos in Accra, a 21-year-old man has been slapped with 10 years imprisonment in hard labour by an Accra Circuit court.
Jerome Anlovi, a labourer, who pleaded guilty, was convicted on his own plea by the court, presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjiin- Doku.
Presenting the facts to the court, Chief Inspector(C/I) Mr Kofi Atimbre, said Anlovi worked for the victim’s mother at her supermarket at Madina and even stayed at her house.
He said on December 26, 2017, the victim’s mother, who is the complaint saw the victim putting a piece of toilet paper in her pants and when she questioned her, she told the complainant that she was bleeding.
The complainant, thinking the victim was menstruating, waited for a month for the victim’s menstrual cycle but she did not see anything.
Mr Atimbre said on February 11, 2018, the complainant again asked the victim about the bleeding and it was then that the victim narrated her ordeal to her mother.
He said somewhere in 2017 when the victim’s mother travelled to Peki in the Volta Region, the accused came to their house in the evening.
Knowing that the victim’s siblings were asleep, Anlovi forcibly had sex with her at the hall, and warned her not to inform anyone.
The victim’s mother quickly reported to the police on February 12, 2018, which led to Anlovi’s arrest.
She was later given a medical report form to take the victim to the hospital for examination and treatment.
