Gomoa Ajumako Council bans bush beaches
The Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Council has banned with immediate effect, beaches organized in the bush by communities in the area during the Annual Akwambo Festival.
This is to curb the rampant cases of pregnancies among school girls, drug abuse, alcoholism and other social vices associated with such social gatherings in the bush.
Obrempong Yamfo Krampah, Omanhene of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area, who made this known at a meeting organised by the Council at Gomoa Akropong, near Agona Swedru, has therefore, ordered the chiefs and clan heads in the area to strictly enforce the order.
The Omanhene urged chiefs in the area to ensure that their subjects do not hold processions on highways during the celebrations, in order to avoid accidents.
He expressed concern about the poor results of the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) in the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area, and called on stakeholders to do the best they can to help reverse the trend.
