Bullion traders support Goldbod - Say it’s viable
The Chamber of Bullion Traders Ghana (CBTG) has rendered its unflinching support to the Goldbod initiative by government to oversee and control commerce in the gold industry.
A statement signed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the chamber, Daniel Krampah, said the CBGT, like all other stakeholders, has had to make some concessions to make way for the birth of the new idea or vision of Goldbod by government.
He said though the Goldbod was yet to go through the various processes before it gets approved by Parliament, the chamber believed the concept and the narratives in support of the programme looked plausible and viable and must be supported.
Dialogues
The CEO said: “So far, the dialogues and the stakeholder engagements held by the Managing Director of the PMMC to explain and further break down the concept have also helped a lot in that regard”.

“We appreciate the open and transparent approach adopted in respect of the Goldbod’s engagement with stakeholders and hope this may continue going forward,” Mr Krampah said.
He added that the chamber was poised and ready to work with the Goldbod because it had the men with capacity and depth of experience to help the programme succeed.
