Accra Aca new PTA executive takes office
The newly sworn in executives of the Accra Academy Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) have pledged to foster a strong partnership among parents, teachers and management of the school.
They said what the association could do was to encourage parental involvement and engagement, among other things.
The Chairman of the Accra Academy PTA, Francis Teiko Tagoe, said this shortly after the new executive’s inauguration following its election.

The ex-officio members are Alfred Gedjah, Abel Coffie and Daniel Enock Essoun.
The new executives will be in office for three years.
Mr Tagoe expressed gratitude to the management of the school, the old PTA executives for the good work they had done.
He said the tireless efforts put in by the previous executives for instance, could not be taken for granted and commended them for the good work done.
Commitment
“I believe your selflessness and commitment have laid the foundation for us to build upon and I can assure the headmaster that we will also do our best,” he said and thanked all for the trust that had been reposed in them.
The immediate past Chairman of the PTA, Alfred Gedjah, said they were inducted into office September 2019 but could not do much when the COVID-19 set in and “so we started work effectively in 2021 and the Lord has been good to us”.
He thanked his executives for the support throughout the period and the management of the school.
PAs
He said they came in at the time when the parent associations (PAs) were not supposed to function due to the free senior high school programme.
Raising funds, he said, was a challenge as parents thought that everything was free and “did not see the reason why they had to support”.
But by the grace of God, he said the association was able to support the school in various ways.
For his part, the headmaster of the school, Emmanuel Ofoe Fiemawhle, congratulated the new executives and thanked old ones for their support, adding that management had very high expectations of the new executives to support government and management to address challenges facing the school.
