Classroom block for Mim-Pipie

The District Chief Executive for Bosomtwe, Madam Veronica Antwi-Adjei, has called on parents and the society to support teachers to ensure the proper education and training of their children.

She explained that although it was the responsibility of teachers to train and educate children during school periods, there was the need for parents to strive to set good examples for their children to emulate at all times.

The DCE made the statement at a ceremony at Mim-Pipie in the Bosomtwe District where she handed over a six-unit classroom block to the community.

Cost of project

The classroom block, which has an office, library, a store and washrooms, was funded through the District Development Fund at an estimated cost of Gh¢150,000.

The completion of the project, which started eightyears ago, has brought great relief to the entire community as the schoolchildren had to make do with a dilapidated old school block, constructed more than 60 years ago.

Madam Antwi-Adjei called on the chiefs and people of the area to ensure that parents provide their children with their basic needs such as food, school bags, among others, to make them comfortable to stay in school.

The Krontihene of Kuntanase, Nana Premoh Kwagyan, who is the overlord of the area, appealed to the community to develop a good maintenance culture so the facility could last longer.

He urged teachers in the area to show dedication to their work so that the children they taught would become good and useful citizens.
