He observed that a lot of people lived in abject poverty and needed help, adding that it was the responsibility of the church to give assistance to such people.

He said members of the church had been encouraged to make regular contributions to the fund because  “as a church, we must assist the communities and towns in which we operate. It is our mandate and we cannot run away from it,” he stressed.

Community Water project

Prophet Ashong said the church had donated a mechanised borehole estimated at GH¢ 10,000 to serve the residents and its surrounding communities.

According to him, water shortage, which was one of the major challenges confronting the community, informed the church’s decision to construct the facility.

Prophet Ashong indicated that the residents were not expected to pay any amount before accessing the facility, adding that it was safe for consumption.

Drug addict group

The church further donated a “special Seed money”  to a group of drug addicts in the community, who had been transformed to help them start a meaningful life.

Prophet Ashong charged them to ensure that they assisted other drug users to stop the habit.

The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the church and called on other churches in the community to emulate what the ICGC had done.
