Apanimadi schools get teachers’ bungalow
A four-bedroom teachers’ bungalow has been constructed for the Apanimadi Junior High and Primary schools at Apanimadi in the Ahafo Ano South District in the Ashanti Region.
The Mprengo Needy Foundation and Adesuapa Guten Lernen, both NGOs, jointly funded the GH¢120,000.00 project which began in 2013. The provision of the bungalow, fully furnished, was facilitated by a native of the community, Mr Gabriel Barima, who is the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South, and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ahafo Ano South-East Constituency, Mr Francis Adabor-Manu, who also presented a generator to the school to facilitate the teaching and study of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Decision
Inaugurating the bungalow, the Bohyenhemaa of Apanimadi, Nana Owusuaa Mprengo, said the two organisations decided to come to the support of the schools following challenges the pupils were facing because their teachers lived far from the compounds.
She said upon a thorough assessment of the situation the two organisations decided to undertake the project to facilitate effective teaching and learning.
