Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth attend national rally
The 35th National Rally (Ijtema) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organisation has ended at Wa with a call on all those who have the interest of the youth at heart to help inculcate a strong foundation of nationalism in them.
The guest of honour, Sir Dr Edward Gyeder, a Member of Council of State, who made the call, said there was the need to step up the teaching of Civic Education in schools.
The three-day event, which attracted over 2,000 Muslim youth from all parts of the country and beyond, had the theme: "Priority to Faith: The Key to Ensuring Prosperity".
He expressed regret that the youth were now confronted with indiscipline, greed, selfishness and the disregard for the rights of others and added that since the youth constituted an important source of human resource development, there was the need for the government to form a youth movement, in line with national policy, to lead them to achieve the desired national development goals.

In his welcome address, the President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Mr Abass Bin Wilson, said it was crucial for the youth to come together to strengthen their faith since they would become leaders in future.
He also called on them to inform those in their communities about what they had learnt.
