
Tamale SOS Hermann Gmeiner School rewards excellence
The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the Tamale SOS Hermann Gmeiner School, has organised an end-of-year (2014) party to climax a successful academic year.
The occasion, which brought together the schoolchildren, their parents, teachers and management of the school to interact, eat and drink in a relaxed atmosphere, was held at the Tamale Sports Stadium.
Some pupils and students of the school who excelled academically during the period were presented with prizes while some teachers and non-teaching staff were also given citations and awards for their hard work.
The awardees who obtained the first positions in the various classes at the primary level were James Nahyi Chentwumi (Basic One), Louis Ali Soah Francis (Basic Two), Kingsley Wunzooyo (Basic Three), Glenda Akanbong (Basic Four), Jeremiah Asrifi (Basic Five) and Josiah Nii Armah Stephens (Basic Six).

For the junior high school (JHS), Nana Kwame Alomenu was the first in JHS One, Atiah Stanislaus Sumdingya and Marcel Kwowura were first in JHS Two and Three respectively.
Other pupils who were adjudged as hardworking on their plots were Kwadwo Adjei Duah, (Section Red), Pearl Dayam (Section Green) Emmanuel Gyan (Section Orange) and Qiptia Lukeman for Section Blue, while Moses Adongo and Qiptia Lukeman from the SOS Village and the community were also adjudged the most punctual pupils.
In a brief remark, the Head of the Tamale SOS Hermann Gmeiner School, Mr Daniel Baani, said the end-of-year party organised by the PTA was for socialisation, to reward pupils and students for excelling academically and motivate teachers to give their best.
Mr Baani said the school also took part in the Junior Graphic Essay Competition to represent the Northern Zone at the national level and took the third position.
