‘Provide children with good pre-school education’

The Proprietress of the Holy Family Crèche in Kumasi, Dr (Mrs) Agartha Akua Bonney, has appealed to parents to ensure that they provide their children with good pre-school education since it is crucial in the development of the child.

This, according to her, will also ensure that children have a good foundation to enable them to develop very well as they progress in their education.

In an interview with the Junior Graphic during a Fun Day organised for pupils of the Holy Family Crèche at Ahinsan Estate in Kumasi, she said all organisations involved in the education of pre-school pupils should do their best to provide a solid foundation for the children. 

Dr Bonney said she established the school when she realised that there were few avenues in the community which allowed children in their early years to have a good educational foundation. 

She explained that a child’s early learning environment should not be characterised by violence, insecurity intolerance and mistrust but should rather have a home-like setting to help the child learn and be trained.

Dr (Mrs) Bonney, who is also a medical practitioner, stated that the school was established with the aimed of enabling the children to learn, play and grow up in a family environment as well as introduce them to modern trends in e-learning.

The creche, which began with only one child in September last year, admits children between six months and four years and now has a population of 42 pupils.
