Victims of Domestic Violence Fund receives little support
The Head of the Domestic Violence Secretariat, Ms Malonin Asibi, has made a passionate appeal to individuals and organisations to contribute generously to the Victims of Domestic Violence Fund.
That, she said, would enable victims of domestic violence and abuse to seek medical help and justice.
She lamented that ever since the fund was established in 2008 with an undisclosed amount of seed money, only the people of The Netherlands had donated GH¢15,000.
Ms Asibi said in an interview in Accra that quite a number of victims of domestic violence, including abused children, had made several calls to access the fund, but unfortunately they were not able to do so because the money was woefully inadequate.
