Driving on the Mallam interchange: Agonising ordeal

I do not have the expertise to determine whether the lifespan of the Mallam Interchange is at risk, judging from the state of disrepair on that stretch of road from Awoshie to Mallam on the George Bush Highway (N1).

One thing I know and I can tell, however, is that driving on the Interchange is an unpleasant exercise.

Drivers of small and big articulated vehicles have the arduous task of driving slowly and stopping to drop their tyres into the potholes developed on the road, so as to protect their shock absorbers from damage.

In so doing, they also protect the Inter-change from receiving the full effect of the bumps from the heavy trucks, if they were to move faster.

However, this creates heavy traffic on that stretch of road on the Interchange as drivers take a long time to make that short journey.

We plead with the body responsible for road repair and maintenance to come to our rescue.
