
Steve Bedi, Becca for MTN Heroes of Change finale
Some of the nation’s best-known music stars will help brings the curtain down on the current MTN Heroes of Change series which has been showing on selected television stations over the last 13 weeks.
Steve Bedi, Becca, Kwabena Kwabena, the El Dunamis Choir and Abena, first runner up at last year’s MTN Hit-Maker talent contest will perform tomorrow, February 19, at the Accra International Conference Centre(AICC) to climax the programme which has sought to discover people working to improve lives in their communities.
A general call was made to the public to send in nominations for individuals they felt were working to bring positive change to their societies in the areas of health, education and economic empowerment. Over 1000 nominations were received and these were struck down to 10 with the help of a panel of judges.
Out of the 10 finalists, one would be awarded as the overall winner of the MTN Heroes of Change Season II and that fellow would walk away with Gh¢100,000. There will also be winners in the three main categories mentioned.

The 10 personalities in contention for the prizes are Dr. Emmanuel Bidzaikii, Nakpanduri (Northern Region); Isaac Adjaottor, Ada Foah (Greater Accra); Emmanuel Quartey, James Town (Greater Accra); Nayina Karim, Karaga (Northern Region) and Nicholas Kuma, Bolgatanga (Upper East).
The rest are Pastor Joseph Jehu-Appiah, Apam (Central Region); Paul Semeh, James Town (Greater Accra); Paulina Opei, Anwia Nkwanta (Ashanti Region) and Salome Francois Cantonments (Greater Accra).
They have all initiated projects extremely beneficial to their localities and society as a whole and the artistes on parade would help provide the appropriate ambience for the judges to choose which of them walk away with the prizes at stake.
“Music has its own way of uplifting social events and we believe the output of the artistes for the night would reflect the essence of the gathering,” said a representative of MTN Ghana Foundation which is the force behind the MTN Heroes of Change programme.
“The whole issue is about selflessness and passion to help others upgrade their lives so the artistic output on the night would reflect that theme,” said Nii Martei Korley, production co-ordinator for the MTN Heroes of Change series.
