MI, Kwaw Kesse 'shut down' University of Ghana
When news started making the rounds on the University of Ghana, Legon campus that Nigerian rapper, MI, would perform at this year's Commonwealth Hall Week Artist Night dubbed Saman Guru, many were the doubting Thomas who thought it was just a hype.
Loads of students just went gaga when MI mounted the stage at the Central Court of Commonwealth Hall last Saturday, April 23, to do what he knows best.
Together with his curvy Nigerian female DJ Lambo, the duo mesmerised patrons with great African HipHop tunes. MI at a point in time went into a ‘trance’ because he could not believe the crowd was rapping his song word-for-word.
MI later beckoned some students to join him on stage to continue with the performance. He even ended up giving one of them the medal-like chain he was wearing, owing to the guy's flawless delivery of his (MI) raps.

After performing for about an hour, MI finally dropped the mic at midnight. To say that he is peerless vis-a-vis stage performance will be stating the obvious.
Prior to MI’s performance, Kwaw Kesse, the Abodam Man, had rocked the stage. His brother, Buda also use the platform to display his freestyle rap skills on the night.
The event organised by the JCR in conjunction with Bacchus Garden also saw performances by Legon's Poncho, Cedi Dog, Dzidu, Kolo and other underground artistes on campus.
And the affairs of the well organised show was ably handled by former Commonwealth Hall member and Live FM's Giovani with support from University of Ghana's Joe Boye, King Papa and Deconzy.
