Pasta production facility to be established in Ghana
Westco Investment Limited has announced plans to build the largest pasta production facility in the country next year.
This forms part of its measures to solidify its market dominance.
The plant, to be developed in partnership with OBA Makarna, will have the capacity to produce an impressive volume of pasta daily.
The Chief Executive Officer of Westco Investment Limited, Haissam Haroun, said this would firmly establish the company as a major force in Ghana's food processing sector.
Local demand
He said the facility would not only meet local demand but also enhance the quality and availability of pasta in the region, reducing dependency on imports and ensuring consistent supply.
While focusing on its new dream, the company would still maintain the supply of essential goods, including grocery items, dairy products and automotive supplies.
Benefits
In an interview with Graphic Business, the CEO said the establishment of the pasta production facility would bring significant benefits to Ghana and its citizens.
He said it would create numerous job opportunities, both directly within the factory and indirectly through supply chains and related industries.
"This will contribute to reducing unemployment rates and enhancing local economies. Additionally, by producing pasta locally, the facility will help stabilise food prices, making nutritious meals more affordable and accessible to Ghanaian families," he said.
Mr Haroun said the new production facility would be equipped with the latest technology to ensure that every product meets the highest standards of quality.
From the initial stages of production to the final product that reaches consumers, Westco Investment guarantees perfection—a hallmark of its business philosophy.
Facility
The CEO said the upcoming production facility is just one example of how the company is poised to shape the future of the industry in Ghana, setting new benchmarks for others to follow.
He said the company holds the franchise of OBA Makarna in Ghana, with the exclusive rights to distribute products from one of the world’s leading food manufacturers.
Founded in Gaziantep, Turkey, in 1966, OBA Makarna is renowned for its cutting-edge production technology and unwavering commitment to quality.
