Dulux paint expert visits Ghana
As part of its initiatives to continue educating the paint industry, Coral Paints has invited one of the Dulux paint experts, Mr Dewald Boshoff for a one-week working visit to Ghana.
Dulux, a brand of Akzonobel of the Netherlands is the world’s leading brand of premium decorative paint.
Coral Paints (also an Akzonobel brand) are the local representatives of Dulux Paint.
Mr Boshoff has been in the paint business for six years and he is part of the Dulux Technical Team. It is his first visit to Ghana but he has extensive experience in Africa.
“It has been my pleasure, and I hope it will continue to be my pleasure, to help educate the Ghanaian painters on how paint works and how to obtain a long lasting paint system. It was great to see how enthusiastic all the painters were to learn more about our products” said Mr Boshoff.
The paint seminars were facilitated by Coral Paints’ executives—the Business Development Manager, Mr Luiz Carlos da Silva, and the General Manager, Mr Yaw Bonnah Sarpong.
Participants in the paint seminars included painters, members of top-range construction firms, as well the Coral paint sales team from the main showroom and authorised distributors.
It was held at the Coral Training Centre and ends today.
Mr Boshoff expressed his delight about the interactive nature of the training programme, particularly as the participants asked essential follow-up questions about the new insights they had acquired and how they could use them effectively to improve upon their skills.
He said that despite using the world-acclaimed Coral and Dulux paints, it was important that painters prepared adequately to get the best possible results.
“We have employed the latest technology into our products but it requires also the best application to get the best results. And in painting, 80 per cent of the job is the preparation of the surface before the application of paints,” he told the Daily Graphic after the training.
