Yaw Sakyi lauds former student Israel Adesanya

The Chief Executive of Rite Sports Yaw Sakyi-Afari has lauded his former student Israel Adesanya for his in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, where he is the UFC Middleweight Champion.

Mr Sakyi-Afari in an Instagram post disclosed that Adesanya was his student at the Sunnyside International School at Nii Boi Town when he taught Sports and was in charge of Entertainment many years ago.

He said he was only alerted to Israel's exploits this week when one of his classmates mentioned that he was currently dominating the UFC.

Adesanya earned New Zealand sportsman of the year honours on the back of his middleweight title success in MMA’s premier championship.

He defended the UFC middleweight championship successfully for the first time when he faced Yoel Romero on March 7, 2020 at UFC 248.
