Medeama won the local league on Sunday after beating Tamale City 3-0 at Tarkwa. They were presented the league title and GHc300,000 cash at stake.

The Uncle T FC boss attributed the victory to dedication, hard work and proper planning by the board and management of the club which he said was worthy of emulating.

''This success has come as a result of hard work and dedication on the part of the board and management, and they deserve to be praised for what they have done'', Mr Tetteh said.

He also praised the club's President, Moses Armah Parker for the professionalism and dynamism he introduced into the management of the club to ensure they won the trophy.

Mr Tetteh said their victory did not come as a surprise to him, especially because they demonstrated consistency over the last few years in the league including coming close to winning the botched league two seasons ago.

Medeama's league title victory is historic as it is the first time in 47-years since a club from the Western Region, Sekondi Hasaacas, last won the league.
