PUSAG Sports Festival Monday
The Seventh Edition of the Private Universities’ Students Association of Ghana ( PUSAG) Sports and Entertainment Festival begins on Monday at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra.
The PUSAG Sports and Entertainment festival is an annual event which is expected to bring students of all accredited private universities together to showcase their talents and also strengthen existing ties between them.
According to organisers, the event is on the theme: “Contributing to National Development Through Sports, The Role of Private Universities in Ghana’.
The media relations officer of PUSAG, Raphael Apetorgbor, told the Daily Graphic that over 1,500 students would participate in the competition in five different sports disciplines.
They include football, basketball, volleyball, athletics and handball and it will feature 32 private universities across the country.
Apetorgbor stressed that the aim of the event was to help the nation discover talents among the students of the private universities.
He said the previous editions of the, had produced outstanding athletes who had represented the country in various fields of sports.
He gave an assurance that adequate security had been provided for all the athletes, adding, however, that God would be the great and ultimate security.
