Manchester United will table an improved £55million offer for Mason Mount as a host of European clubs line up a January free transfer if Chelsea don’t reduce their £70million valuation.

Mail Sport revealed United’s intention to sign Mount, who has just 12 months on his current deal, in May and the Old Trafford club have already had two offers rejected.

United’s next offer, understood to comprise of a £50million guaranteed payment plus £5m in add-ons, is imminent.

Erik ten Hag has made Mount a priority signing this summer and United are doing all they can to make the deal happen within their financial structure.

Kai Havertz move to Arsenal

One Arsenal player has been left feeling particularly flustered about his future given the imminent arrival of Kai Havertz

The Gunners shocked the nation when they sealed a £65million deal for the Chelsea man, whose faltering form has failed to flatter in three years in the Premier League.

But Mikel Arteta's side have showed belief in the German international and could make use of Havertz's versatility to play him in a number of positions

And the potential of Havertz adopting a place up-front has caused concern for one Gunners star in particular.

Andre Onana for Man United

Manchester United have held further exploratory talks over a deal for Andre Onana.

Mail Sport reported on Wednesday that the Inter Milan goalkeeper had been sounded out about a possible switch to Old Trafford.

And United chiefs met with Onana’s agent Albert Botines on Thursday for more discussions about the potential move, with buying a new No.1 goalkeeper one of the options they are considering in this window.

The final decision will hinge on the future of David de Gea, which remains uncertain with his current contract expiring next week.

Should he depart United will have a vacancy in goal and Onana has emerged as one of the leading candidates to replace him.

Christopher Nkuku lands at Chelsea

Chelsea fans had their first sighting of new man Christopher Nkunku in a Blues shirt following his £53m move from RB Leipzig.

The French international, who signed a pre-contract with the club in December, will provide some much needed thrust to the Chelsea attack.

Nkunku has been pictured in a Blues shirt for the first time since putting pen to paper on a six-year deal after the club posted an image of him in last season’s kit.

The 25-year-old opted for a relaxed pose in both pictures, showing his delight at joining Mauricio Pochettino’s squad in one of the released images.

Chelsea’s capture of the former Leipzig man represents a rare piece of prudent business following the forward’s impressive four-year resume in Germany.

Chelsea are ready to return with a bid for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo as they offload Kai Havertz to Arsenal plus Hakim Ziyech, Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy to Saudi Arabia for a combined fee of around £107m.

A move for the Ecuadorian midfielder comes after N'Golo Kante completed his move to Al-Ittihad, while Mateo Kovacic is closing in on an exit to Manchester City and Mason Mount is expected to join Manchester United this summer.

Mail Sport previously revealed that Chelsea were trying to secure the signing of Caicedo in a deal worth in excess of £80million.

The Blues are looking to partner him with club-record signing Enzo Fernandez ahead of next season.

Kalvin Phillips on Bayern Munich radar

Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips has reportedly emerged as a shock target for Bayern Munich.

According to BILD, the German club have a strong relationship with Phillips' agency CAA Stellar.

Phillips joined City from Leeds for £42million last summer but his future at the Etihad Stadium is uncertain following a frustrating campaign.

Although City won the treble, Phillips started just two games in the Premier League, both of which came after the title was already secured.

With City looking to secure the signing of Declan Rice from West Ham it is possible that Phillips could depart.
