Kotoko depart Accra today for Sudan

Coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has named an 18-man team to travel out of Accra today for Ethiopia en route to Sudan to play against Al Hilal in their group encounter of the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.

The squad comprises many of the players who were instrumental in Kotoko’s 5-3 aggregate victory over Coton Sport of Cameroun, which qualified the team to the group stage of Africa’s second tier club competition.

Coach Akonnor dropped experienced midfielders Jordan Opoku and Daniel Nii Adjei, as well as striker Naby Keita, who also missed the trip to Garoua two weeks ago to play Coton Sport in the first leg match.

The team comprises two goalkeepers, six defenders, seven midfielders and three strikers.

Defenders: Wahab Adams, Amos Frimpong, Augustine Sefa, Abdul Ishmail Ganiu, Evans Owusu, Emmanuel Agyeman Badu.

Midfielders: Richard Senanu, Kwame Bonsu, Umar Basiru, Maxwell Baako, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Prince Acquah, Stephen Nyarko

Strikers: Obed Owusu, Abdul Fatawu, Sogne Yacouba
