Adotey names Maidens’ final squad for U-17 Women’s World Cup

Evans Adotey, the coach of Ghana’s Under-17 female football team, has released his final list of players for the 2014 Women’s World Cup (WWC) ahead of the 2014 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica next week.

Coach Adotey, currently with the team in Alabama,USA, preparing for the tournament,  has named eight players of the bronze-winning Maidens team in Azerbaijan 2012,  including one of the youngest players in the tournament, Fuseina Mumuni who just turned 13. 

The team, put together after almost five months of preparation, is a fine blend of experience and determination as top striker Jane Ayieyam, Naomi Anima, Vida Opoku, Gladys Amfobea, Samira Abdul-Rahman, Belinda Anane, Laadi Issaka and Azume Adams who were all in Azerbaijan, make a second appearance at the U-17 WWC and the rest being handed their maiden WWC.

The Maidens list, released yesterday is part of the 15 other team lists submitted 10 days to the kickoff of the competition.
