MTN/FA Cup:Hearts pip Sharks
An 11th minute penalty converted by Isaac Oduro handed Accra Hearts of Oak 1-0 win over Division One League side Elmina Sharks in their MTN/ FA Cup encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium yesterday.
Referee Dan Dogbetor rightly awarded the Phobians a spot kick and remained resolute in his conviction that Hearts’ Thomas Abbey had been fouled in the Sharks’ box, in spite of vehement protest by Coach Kwabena Amissah and his players against the decision.
Indeed, an enraged Coach Amissah ordered his players to leave the pitch over perceived bias and play was held for some minutes, until he was later prevailed upon to allow his team to resume play.
When calm and order was eventually restored, Oduro cooly shot the ball to the blind side of goalkeeper Michael Abu to give the Premier League side the winning goal.

The early goal and protest seemed to have taken the steam out of the Sharks who looked disorganised thereafter but the Phobians also failed to take advantage of the situation to further punish the Elmina side.
