Kotoko ride the Storm at Nkawkaw in MTN FA Cup Round of 16
Kumasi Asante Kotoko rode the storm against Division Two side Storm Academy at Nkawkaw last Saturday to book a place in the quarter-finals of the MTN FA Cup.
Hot favourites Kotoko had to survive a real scare by fighting from a 1-0 first half deficit to force a nail-biting penalty shootout which they eventually won 5-4 to advance to the next stage of the competition.
Kotoko, last year’s beaten finalists, had to endure a similar harrowing experience against another Division Two side, A.K. Shion at the Round of 64 before taming Tumu Real 24 Hours 2-0 at Tumu in the previous round.
At Samreboi also last Saturday,. Liberty Professionals put the brakes on Samartex after beating them 1-0, while WAFA also called the bluff of Emmanuel FC with a 1-0 victory at Sogakope last Friday.
