Ghanaians react to EC's disqualification of 12 Presidential aspirants (TWEETS)
Ghanaians have taken to micro-blog Twitter to react to the news that only four candidates out of 17 aspirants have qualified for the 2016 Presidential elections.
For the admirers of the four Presidential candidates - Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Dramani Mahama of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ivor Kobina Greenstreet of the Convention Peoples Congress (CPP) and Jacob Osei Yeboah (JOY), an independent candidate - there has been an outpouring of immense joy.
Another aspirant Akwasi Addae Odike of the United Progressive Party (UPP) is in limbo and been given up to Friday October 14, 2016 to sort out a court case with his political party executives who are challenging his nomination.
Meanwhile, others have chosen to poke fun at and mock the 12 who have been kicked-out of the contest.
The unfortunate 12 are Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom of PPP, Mr Hassan Ayariga of APC, Dr Edward Nasigri Mahama of PNC and Mr Kofi Apaloo of IPP, T.N. Ward Brew of DPP, Mr Henry Lartey of GCPP, Richard Tetteh of USDP, Akua Donkor of GFP, Nana Agyenim Boateng if UFP, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings of NDP and Kwabena Agyei of Reformed Patriotic Democrats (RPD) and an independent candidate Kwame Asante Walker.
The Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Charlotte Osei has also not been left-out of the banter.
