EC systems secure, robust
A Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) in charge of Corporate Services, Dr Bossman Asare, has said the system of the EC is secure and robust.

He has, therefore, assured Ghanaians that come December 7 the commission would organise another "perhaps transparent and credible elections which will go down as one of the best in our country".
Dr Asare, who was responding to questions on the allegation of missing Biometric Verification Devices (BVDs) at EC, said: "Anyone who thinks that something has happened and as a result of that there is a problem, we are convinced and certain that all our systems are active and secure and we are ready for the activities of the year."
At a press conference last Wednesday, the EC denied the missing BVDs from its stores and said it was rather five laptops, which were part of the Biometric Voters Registration (BVRs) kits, that were stolen.
Dr Asare said the Commission under the leadership of the chairperson, was committed to a very transparent and credible process.
Registration exercise
Dr Asare said one of the things the public needed to know was that anytime the EC undertook registration exercises, the EC gave a report to all political parties.
"So all the political parties know the stage of the registration before we even begin and when we finished too, we have what we call the end of day report, which is given to the political parties," he said.
"So what is meant is that the political parties are able to tabulate and put all the figures together; so if even something is missing, the political parties are convinced with the structures the EC has put in place because at every stage of our activity, the political parties are there to monitor and in many instances, they have their agents there who are supposed to ensure quality assurance," he explained.
