After weeks of anticipation, the wait is almost over for music lovers and industry players across the country, as the official list of nominees for the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) is set to be unveiled this Saturday, March 15, 2025.

The grand announcement will be broadcast live on TV3 and streamed simultaneously on the Ghana Music Awards' official social media platforms, offering fans a front-row seat to see which of their favourite artistes and groups have earned a spot on this year's coveted nominees list.

The journey to this year’s TGMA began on January 21, 2025, when the call for nominations was officially opened. Artistes and music groups were invited to submit their works released within the eligibility year — from January 1 to December 31, 2024 — for consideration. The submission window remained open until February 16, 2025.

According to Charterhouse, organisers of the prestigious awards scheme, this year's response was overwhelming. They received over 1,500 entries from more than 130 artistes and music groups, spanning a variety of genres and styles.

Once submissions closed, a dedicated panel of industry experts, including seasoned musicians, producers, and key stakeholders, undertook the challenging task of carefully reviewing and vetting each entry. 

The screening process, organisers say, was rigorous, guided by clearly defined criteria to ensure only the most outstanding and deserving candidates made it through.

Following the review, the final list of nominees was vetted and approved by the TGMA board and other notable figures in the music industry, guaranteeing a transparent and credible selection process.
Spotlight on the Big 5 Categories

Although all award categories carry significance, all eyes are expected to be on the prestigious Big 5 categories, which often dominate headlines and spark intense public debate.
These categories represent the pinnacle of achievement in the Ghanaian music industry and will be unveiled live during the announcement ceremony.

• Telecel Most Popular Song of the Year
• New Artiste of the Year
• Artiste of the Year
