Deputy Chief of Staff connects 3 communities to national grid

Three communities in the Damongo Constituency, the capital of the newly created Savannah Region, have benefitted from an electrification project aimed at enhancing the socio-economic lives of the people.

The beneficiary communities are Murugu, Mognori and Broto.
The connection of the three communities to the national grid was made possible through the initiative of Mr Samuel Abu Jinapor, a Deputy Chief of Staff at the Presidency.
Mr Jinapor is also the sole candidate for the Damongo Constituency in the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary to be held in constituencies across the country where the ruling NPP has no sitting Members of Parliament (MP), otherwise known as  "orphan" constituencies.
Mr Jinapor is seeking to win the Damongo parliamentary seat for the NPP in the 2020 general election after receiving the nod of the party to become its parliamentary candidate for election 2020.
Inauguration
Mr Abu Jinapor, speaking at separate inauguration ceremonies held at Murugu, Mognori and Broto, said the extension of electricity to the beneficiary communities was to help improve on the standard of living of the people in the area.
He noted that the development of every community depended on electricity, good roads, potable drinking water, education and health.
He expressed the hope that the electrification project would go a long way to enhance economic activities in the beneficiary communities and also enable students to study at night to improve on their academic performance.
Mr Jinapor stated that once electricity had become a thing of the past for the community, the roads and potable drinking water would be his next target for the beneficiary communities.
The Savannah Regional Minister, Mr Salifu Adam Braimah, who is also the MP for Salaga South, the only sitting MP for the ruling NPP in the Savannah Region, who graced the occasion, on his part, urged the people in the three beneficiary communities to take advantage of  the electrification project to improve on their lots.
