Frimpong Boateng truncates address at manifesto launch

Renowned heart surgeon Dr Kwabena Frimpong Boateng struggled through his speech at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) manifesto launch on Sunday and had to truncate it.

Dr Frimpong Boateng when he mounted the podium explained that for Ghana to be cutting edge, it must begin to redefine the role of science and technology and explained that the NPP will establish a presidential advisory council on science and technology.

Moments after that he started coughing and they brought him some water and later a chair but he couldn't continue.

Graphic Online’s reporter at the manifesto launch, Kweku Zurek explained that Dr Frimpong Boateng was led away from the stage but not before the Women's Organiser of the NPP, Madam Otiko Afisa Djaba offered him one kalyppo fruit juice.

The master of ceremony for the day, Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah attributed Dr Frimpong Boateng's inability to complete his speech to the heat in the hall.

Mr Alan Kyeremanten then took over for his own presentation.
