Dakura calls on NDC supporters to close ranks
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Jirapa Constituency, Dr Francis Bawaana Dakura, has called on party supporters to close their ranks to ensure that the party wins the 2016 elections.
“Now that the primaries are over, we should bury all our differences and forge ahead in unity as one family to contest the elections ahead”, he said.
Addressing a press conference at Jirapa in the Upper West Region last Monday, Dr Dakura congratulated all those who voted for him to ensure his ‘sweet’ victory to contest on the ticket of the NDC and the others who voted for the other two contestants in his constituency.
The two are Madam Vivian Kunko and Mr Charles Lwanga Puozong.

Dr Dakura said there was bound to be differences but coming from one family, such differences should not be detrimental to the unity of the party.
He said the Jirapa Constituency had been a stronghold for the NDC since 1992 and as such should be maintained, adding that this will enable the party to maintain all the 11 seats in the parliamentary election in the UWR.
“I am calling on my fellow contestants that my doors are open and so they should all come on board so that we plan ahead with strategies to go into the elections for massive victory, come 2016. “There is no discrimination and that is why the NDC party is unique”, he said.
He gave an assurance that he was ready to work with everybody in the quest for victory.
