Akufo-Addo at Manhyia: I'll honour promises (photos)
The President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, has stated that he is determined to honour his promises made to the people of Ghana during the electioneering to ensure that there is progress and prosperity for all.
He explained that those pledges were not flimsy but well calculated and thought-out policies put together by experienced persons in response to the needs of the people and also geared towards making the country a prosperous one.
Nana Akufo-Addo made the statement at Manhyia today when together with his running mate, Dr Mahamud Bawumia, national and regional party executives paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia palace in Kumasi.
Surprisingly, although this Awukudae is a small occasion which is also being celebrated during a period when the Queenmother of Asanteman had gone to the village, a milling crowd of NPP supporters flooded the palace and its surroundings.
Dressed in NPP colours and other paraphernalia, the supporters turned the surroundings of the palace into carnival with various brass band music playing both NPP tunes and the NDC’s campaign song “Onaapo”.
