President Mahama congratulates Uhuru Kenyatta

President John Mahama has congratulated the President-elect of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, on his success at the general elections.

“I wish, on behalf of the Government and People of Ghana, to extend to your Excellency and the people of the Republic of Kenya, our sincere and warm congratulations,” a press release from the Office of the President said.

According to the release, it was the conviction of President Mahama that through the conduct of  fair and transparent process, the people of Kenya had chalked up a significant victory and had served notice of their determination to enjoy the benefits of democracy, peace and development.

It expressed confidence that the friendly relations existing between the two countries would continue to witness further strengthening in the years ahead.

While wishing the President-elect every success in the discharge of his responsibilities, President Mahama also extended to him best wishes for his personal well-being and for the progress and prosperity of the people of Kenya.
