Presby Church climaxes youth festival with thanksgiving service

The Youth Development Agenda Festival (Yudafest) held by the Anointed One Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Sakumono, near Tema, was well attended by children, the youth and the elderly, and climaxed with a thanksgiving service on Sunday.

Sponsored by Ernest Chemists Limited, Green FM, Everpure, Jireh Eye Clinic, Presbyterian Health Fellowship, Legon, and K- Somuah & Sons, the event culminated in a series of events, including community outreach and prayer, talk on relationship and entrepreneurship, Spelling Bee, variety night and a musical concert.

Primary goal

With the primary goal of running exclusive programmes to win souls for Christ, the programme, one of the finest events of the church since 2010, also aimed at providing an avenue for participants to closely collaborate with corporate organisations to promote their businesses and also offer a platform for people to demonstrate their skills in competitions.

Initiated by the Pastor in charge, Rev. Emmanuel Adu Tetteh, the programme also aimed at raising money for charity, offer free medical screening and an occasion for blood donation and empowering people in simple business practices for job enhancement for better living.

Impacting on the youth

In his remarks, Rev. Adu Tetteh encouraged the congregation to hold fast onto Yudafest to continue to make a positive impact on the youth.

He advised the congregation, particularly the youth, not to look down on any job as below their class, but rather start from somewhere and work hard to make progress.

Preaching a sermon on the theme: “Pursue, Overtake, Recover”, a Presbyter, Mr Isaac Nyadjro, advised the congregation to “encourage one another when they lose something in life, through thanksgiving to get the strength to pursue, overtake and recover”

“You are the prophet of your life and can do all things through Christ who strengthens you, act on the wisdom of God and learn to speak well to pursue, overtake and recover,” he said.

The unique theme that ran through a three-day talk delivered on the theme was the need for people in relationships to be knowledgeable and responsible, love one another and set high moral standards by desisting from immoral acts as their repercussions could be grave.
