Police escort kills suspected highway robber on Techiman-Sunyani road

A Police escort accompanying traders in a Sprinter bus, in the early hours of Monday, July 30, 2018 gunned down a suspected armed robber at Agosa on the Techiman-Sunyani Road in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

The bus, with registration number AW 9606 -14, was travelling from Dormaa-Ahenkro to Yeji, when five suspected armed robbers opened fire, targeting the driver’s side during the journey.

The only police escort fired back at the suspects, leading to the death of one of the suspected robbers who happened to be a Fulani man.

The incident, which happened around 12:15am, led to the exchange of gunfire between the police officer and the five suspected armed robbers.
