Mama Lu makes ‘stop over’ at Graphic on way to Awukugua

Grief and sorrow took over staff of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) yesterday as they bid farewell to Mrs Lucy Harriet Addo, GCGL’s Assistant Head of Proofreading, on the company’s premises.

Tears flowed freely among the GCGL family when the mortal remains of the hardworking woman popularly known as Aunty Lucy arrived at the company’s premises.

The solemn ceremony, which attracted the management and staff of GCGL, was a prelude to the main funeral which takes place today at the Dawu/Awukugua, Presbyterian School Park in the Akwuapim-North District in the Eastern Region.

Clad in mostly black attire and the colours of GCCL, the staff and management prayed for the departed soul of Aunty Lucy and sang hymns as they paid their last respects.

At the ceremony, the Managing Director of GCGL, Mr Kenneth Ashigbey, urged staff of GCCL to emulate the lifestyle of Aunty Lucy which was based on the principle of peaceful coexistence.

Sermon

Reverened Samuel Ebo Kwaitoo, who delivered the sermon, urged the GCGL fraternity to aspire for the Kingdom of Heaven and not earthly things.

He claimed that the most important thing for a human being was his or her ability to build a personal relationship with God and secure eternal life.
