Lovers arrested for taking nude pictures of student

A barber and his girlfriend are in the grips of the police for allegedly taking nude pictures of a student journalist and publishing them on a social media platform.

The suspects are said to have threatened to pour acid on the student if she refused to strip naked for the pictures to be taken.

The 35-year-old man, Ishak Ahmed, was said to have raped the student, while his girlfriend, Cindy Brown, a 33-year-old trader, assaulted her.

They were arrested after the nude pictures of the student were circulated to her friends through the social media platform, Whatsapp.

Lured to hotel 

The Odorkor District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police, Mr Abraham Acquaye, said Cindy allegedly instigated Ahmed to take nude pictures of the student to punish her for becoming a “third person” in their relationship.

Ahmed and his girlfriend are said to have lured the student to a hotel at Hong Kong near Lapaz in Accra, where they compelled her to strip naked for the pictures to be taken.

Second episode 

A week later, the suspects were said to have forced the student into a taxi and taken her into their residence at Fadama, where they again forced her to strip for her nude pictures to be taken.

Later, the suspects posted the pictures to the friends of the student on whatsapp.

A friend of the student, whose name is being withheld, informed the mother of the victim about the nude pictures of her daughter on whatsapp.

A report was then made to the police who arrested the suspects.
