Kwahu Traditional Council confirms outdooring of new Omanhene
The Kwahu Traditional Council has dismissed widespread rumours of a court injunction preventing the grand outdooring of Daasebre Akumoah Boateng III, Omanhene of the Kwahu Traditional Area, affirming that the ceremony will take place as scheduled on Saturday, March 8, 2025.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, the Akyeamehene of the Kwahu Traditional Area, Nana Asiedu Kwabeng IV, refuted claims circulating on social and traditional media, urging all Kwahu citizens to rally behind Daasebre Akumoah Boateng III and support his vision for the development of the Kwahu Kingdom.
“Kwahu remains committed to peace, unity, and progress, and the area remains calm and peaceful,” the statement assured.
No dual paramountcy in Kwahu
Addressing speculation about the existence of dual paramountcy in Kwahu, Nana Asiedu Kwabeng IV debunked such claims as unfounded and misleading.

“It is with profound sadness that Kwahu Kingmakers and Chiefs are compelled to issue this media notice in response to publications on social media and some selected print, TV, and radio stations. Sadness because, as the adage goes, ‘we do not wash our dirty linen in public,’ and also ‘A royal’s issues are not judged in public.’ However, if we keep silent, the misinformation being spread will cast a dark shadow on us.”
He reaffirmed that there is no dual paramountcy in the Kwahu Kingdom, explaining that the former Omanhene, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II, was destooled on October 19, 2024, for violating the sacred oath he swore as Omanhene.
No injunction on outdooring ceremony
Reacting to reports that the outdooring event had been injuncted by the court, Nana Asiedu Kwabeng IV clarified that the interim injunction against six Chiefs of Abene and Baffour Akoto Osei (now Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III) had lapsed.
“We once again emphasize to the general public that there is no injunction preventing the outdooring ceremony. The event will proceed as planned,” he declared.
The statement comes as a reassurance to Kwahu citizens ahead of the highly anticipated traditional ceremony, which marks the official outdooring of their new paramount chief.
