Ghana Election 2024: Graphic National Development Series: Graphic, EC discuss Election 2024 readiness
The Graphic Communications Group Ltd (GCGL) and the Electoral Commission (EC) will host the fourth edition of the Graphic National Development Series (GNDS) which focuses on the nation’s readiness for the December 7 general election.
The event, which will be on the theme: “Sustaining Civic & Democratic Governance System for Development, Mandate of all Citizens,” will take place in Accra tomorrow at the British Council at 10 a.m.
The GNDS is a thought-leadership platform of the GCGL carefully structured to steer strategic national discourse away from a partisan stance to reach outcomes of a national character behind which the country can rally for development.
The event will bring together key stakeholders, including political parties, the leadership and other officials of the EC, national security officials, local authorities, traditional leaders and religious figures, to provide updates on measures being taken to ensure peaceful, transparent and credible elections.
Objectives
The Director, Marketing and Sales of GCGL, Franklin Sowa, explained that the main takeaway of the event was to enable the nation to know that the country was ready for the elections and to assure the public that all relevant stakeholders were collaborating to deliver a successful electoral process.
He said the event would offer a platform for stakeholders to inform the public about the systems in place to address any concerns during the electioneering.
“This is to allow the public to understand that the EC and, indeed, the country, has a robust system to address any issues that may arise, ensuring that there’s no need for fear or confusion,” Mr Sowa added.
The Director, Sales and Marketing emphasised that the GNDS aligned with GCGL’s mission to drive dialogue and development on national issues.
“This particular session will play a vital role in setting the tone for a peaceful and successful democratic process towards the elections next week Saturday,” Mr Sowa added.
Background
This will be the fourth and last edition of the GNDS for the year. It marks the conclusion of the series that earlier focused on agriculture, health and education.
