
Govt must be decisive on environmental issues — Apostle Amponsah-Frimpong
The Chairman of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) International, Apostle Samuel Amponsah-Frimpong, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to tackle the pressing environmental issues affecting water bodies and forests to ensure the future of the nation.
During a three-day annual ministerial prayer conference of the church at the Anim Temple at Anum Asamankese last Friday, Apostle Amponsah-Frimpong urged the President to make an effort to foster unity in the nation after the election.
He urged him to inspire a spirit that embraced inclusivity and reconciliation, rejecting divisive rhetoric and championing nation-building initiatives.
The chairman of the CAC encouraged the President to lead the country on a path to healing and progress while prioritising the collective good for the advancement of the national agenda of improving the economic gains of the nation, as well as creating opportunities for all Ghanaians, especially the youth.

The annual ministerial conference of the CAC provides the church the opportunity to pray for the nation, the President and all state functionaries for the progress of the nation.
Spiritual refreshment
The conference brought together ministers of the church from across the country and outside the country to seek divine guidance, wisdom and intervention in the affairs of the church, the nation and the world.
It also serves as a spiritual rejuvenation and a time of intense prayer and fasting, interceding for the growth, unity and spiritual empowerment of the church.
Apostle Amponsah-Frimpong praised Ghanaians for the successful conduct of the recent presidential and parliamentary elections.
Congratulations
He congratulated President Mahama on his decisive victory in the presidential election and a successful inaugural ceremony.
The chairman of the church commended the Electoral Commission, security agencies and all stakeholders for their tireless efforts in ensuring a peaceful and transparent electoral process which has won the nation global admiration.
“We also congratulate the immediate past President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on his role in the seamless transition of power to the new President,” he said.
Apostle Amponsah-Frimpong also lauded the former Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, for his timely concession and acceptance of the election results, which helped to ease tensions and maintained peace and stability in the country.
