Christian Methodist SHS old students renovate sickbay
The 1980 Year group of the Old Students Association of Christian Methodist Senior High School (CMSHS) has renovated the school’s sickbay to ensure a conducive and well-equipped environment for students’ health and well-being.
The renovated sickbay now features four beds, a washroom, an office for nurses to conduct consultations, and a fridge for storing medications.
The facility, inaugurated last Friday (February 28), aims to significantly enhance healthcare delivery for students.
Giving back
President of the 1980 Old Students Association, Dr Edem Cudjoe Amengor, emphasised the group's dedication to giving back to their alma mater.

"This year, we want to give back to the school what it gave us when we were youngsters and didn't know anything," he said.
He added, "The school gave us so much. So we also thought that it's good for us to give back, and we want to say that this is only the beginning."
Representing the association's diaspora members, Michael Acorlor shared his enthusiasm for the project.
"I'm happy that the school gave us a lot, and we are now trying to give back," he said.
He also assured the school that the associations would continue to support other projects in the school.
"With my brothers in the diaspora, we're going to continue to help the school. Not only are this project, but we are going to do other ones too, so the moment they tell us where they need our support, we're going to do it,” he said.
Gratitude
The Headmaster of the school, Lawrence Dankyi, expressed profound gratitude to the association for helping the school solve one of its significant challenges.
He further highlighted the long-term benefits, stating that it would go a long way to benefit generations that were yet to come.
"The facility was in a very bad state, and with our limited resources, we have been unable to improve the situation.
However, through your thoughtfulness and benevolence, the place has transformed into a well-equipped facility to serve students.
“We truly appreciate this and you have just shown how important old student groups are now in present-day school management,” he stated.
