Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the bank, Godfred Asante Hanson, urged the beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity.

He emphasised the bank’s commitment to community development, stating that its growth as a financial institution was directly linked to the well-being and progress of the communities where the bank operated.

He further appealed to the public to continue banking with the Manya Krobo Rural Bank PLC, highlighting that the bank’s profits were reinvested into the community to ensure sustainable development and support for those in need.

Gratitude

The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the bank for easing their financial burdens and making their tertiary education possible.

They commended the bank for its unwavering support and wished the institution continued success in its endeavours.

At the programme, a teacher at the Oti Boateng Senior High School, Joseph Sackitey, who was a beneficiary of the scholarship scheme, credited his educational success to the Manya Krobo Rural Bank’s scholarship support.

Recounting his story, the visibly emotional Sackitey touched on the challenges he faced after his father died in 2014 at the time he was just a senior high school student and without financial support.

However, the bank’s scholarship programme fully supported him from senior high school until he completed his first degree.

Mr Sackitey expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the board of directors and management of the Manya Krobo Rural Bank PLC for stepping in at a critical moment in his life and that he could have dropped out of school just like many other unfortunate students.

Scholarship

The scholarship scheme of the Manya Krobo Rural Bank was inaugurated two decades ago as part of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to award scholarships to students in the form of school fees payment on an annual basis.

The bank, as a partner in development, has been consistent in supporting the needs of the students over the years.
