‘Ghana needs more healthcare personnel’
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Christian HealthCare Training School (CHTS) at Breman Asikuma in the Central Region, Mr Kwesi Mends, has underscored the need to train more healthcare personnel to ensure access to quality healthcare in the various communities in the country.
He said training more healthcare personnel would enhance quality healthcare delivery for the betterment of the people.
Speaking during a media encounter with officials of CHTS at Breman Asikuma last Monday, Mr Mends said “quality healthcare is basically a positive step for disease management and we need to build our systems from ground to the various levels.”
He identified lack of manpower and policy issues, the need for greater integration of modern and traditional systems of medicine, better use of technology and upgrade of skill as factors affecting the healthcare industry, lamenting that it was unfortunate that a country with a population of over 25 million could boast 2.6 million healthcare professionals.

Mr Mends noted that the population was in need of more healthcare personnel to provide healthcare in the various communities in support of national development.
He said the vision of CHTS was to make significant contributions towards the healthcare industry by training professionals through excellence, innovation and Christian values.
He, therefore, urged stakeholders to contribute towards healthcare education.
