Gbese Mantse inducted into Ga Traditional Council
THE Gbese Mantse, Nii Ayi Bontey II, has been officially inducted into the Ga Traditional Council, with a call on the people of Gbese to unite towards bringing development to the area.
The acting President of the Ga Traditional Council, Nii Dodoo Nsaki II, made the call when he welcomed the Gbese Mantse and his elders to the council at the Ga Mantse’s Palace in Accra on Tuesday.
He advised Nii Ayi Bontey to be loyal to the clan and be accountable to the paramount chief and his elders as well as the people. He also advised him to report to the council any challenges he might encounter.
After the swearing-in, which was done amid pomp and ceremony, Nii Ayi Bontey pledged his allegiance to the council and thanked them for the advice and guidance.

He also promised to work hard to enable Gbese regain its lost status, and pledged that he would make himself available anytime he was called upon.
Nii Ayi Bontey expressed his gratitude to the council for the confidence reposed in him and called on his subjects to co-exist peacefully and contribute meaningfully to the development of the town.
The chief and his elders presented assorted drinks, a big ram and an undisclosed sum of money to the council as custom demanded.
As part of the swearing-in ceremony, a ram was slaughtered and the blood smeared on Nii Ayi Bonte’s feet to signify the final traditional rites and his inclusion in the Ga Traditional Council.
The colourful ceremony brought together various Ga chiefs, linguists, queens, fetish priests and members of the public.
