Dankwa tops cooking contest
Nine traditional caterers from four regions of the country have engaged in a fierce cooking competition in Accra.
The contestants drawn from Central, Greater Accra, Ashanti and Western regions were given three hours to cook using rice, chicken and groundnut paste.

The event was the climax of three regional food service seminars organised by the US service groups; US Rice Federation, USA Poultry and Eggs Export Council and the American Peanut Council
The aim is to provide traditional caterers with the opportunity to use products from the US to create new traditional recipes.

At the end of the competition, the only male among the nine contestant, Mr Rockson Dankwa from the Ashanti Region, was adjudged the overall winner.
For his prize he received a five burner gas stove, a bag of rice, and a carton of chicken.
Ms Joana Forson from the Central Region placed second and took home a medium chest freezer while Ms Marian Araba Dontoh, who placed third, won a medium size gas oven and a bag of rice and chicken.
Prizes were also given to other contestants who won in various categories such as presentation, creativity, safety, time management etc.
