
Second national best teacher calls on Ejisu MCE
The second runner-up of the National Best Teacher Awards, Mr Samuel Nsaidoo Aboagye of the Okyerekrom M/A Junior High School, near Ejisu, has called on the Ejisu/Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Kwaku Afrifa Yamoah Ponko, to show his prize, a Kia Picanto Saloon car, to him at his office at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region.
Mr Aboagye was among about 85 teachers and institutions who were honoured by the government for their hard work, dedicated service and commitment to the improvement of education in the country at a ceremony in Cape Coast in the Central Region last week, which also marked World Teachers Day celebration.
Receiving Mr Aboagye to his office, Mr Yamoah Ponko lauded him for bringing such an honour to the municipal assembly, teachers in the municipality, and the region in general, adding that his efforts must be emulated by other teachers in the region to raise high the image of education in the region.
He said the government recognised the efforts and contributions of teachers towards the improvement and development of education in the country, and would continue to show its appreciation to hardworking and dedicated teachers and institutions.

He advised Mr Aboagye to continue to work hard to justify his award and also remain committed , and continue to serve as a role model to other teachers.
Mr Aboagye expressed his appreciation to the government, the Ejisu/Juaben Municipal Assembly and the Municipal Directorate of Education for their support and recognition.
He appealed to the government and partners in the education sector, as well as organisations to motivate teachers through the provision of educational infrastructure, materials and incentive packages for teachers to boost their morale, especially those in the deprived areas.
He said he shared the honour with the municipal assembly, municipal directorate of education and his colleagues.
